MINISTRY OF FINANCE OFFICES Abu Dhabi and Dubai, United Arab Emirates

The scope of this concept design project consisted of the interior design and construction supervision for the Ministry of Finance. The office locations in Abu Dhabi and Dubai are led by H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, UAE Minister of Finance. RW Armstrong’s task was to provide designs for both Abu Dhabi and Dubai’s executive offices in a modern and practical way, with a character that reflects a time-proofed modernity without reaching trendiness. In parallel RW Armstrong had to maintain the executive character of the spaces that are representing one of the most important government bodies in the country.  Another challenge was to efficiently use the space; the program was increased with several functions from the original space usage to keep a sense of openness. The outcome of the design project were two geographically separate offices that share the same look and feel, yet each has a character of its own. RW Armstrong responsibilities included:
  • Conducting workshops with the client’s project manager periodically.
  • Presenting several options of space planning until reaching an optimal solution.
  • Presenting several material options along with photo-real perspectives.
  • Full development of concept until tender documentation.
  • Shortlisting and helping client selecting the right contractors.
  • Construction supervision.
