Nareel Island Development Abu Dhabi, UAE

Nareel Island Development is a luxury Residential, Leisure and Tourism Development in Abu Dhabi undertaken by Aldar properties. This waterfront development comprised a luxury villa complex, a five-star hotel, club and marina that include integrated residential, commercial and retail features. The center-piece for the island will be a unique saltwater lagoon feature that shall provide shade to recreational users from planted coconut trees within the lagoon itself.
The services that RW Armstrong provided include: Master Plan review, Detailed Architectural Design, Structural and MEP Engineering Design, Landscape, ICT, Interior Design, Furniture, Fitting & Equipment (FF&E) and Construction Supervision
for the Mock-up Villa.
Nareel Island offers a highly sought-after and unique lifestyle destination, designed to attract and respect the Emirati community as well as the expatriate’s culture and way of living. Therefore, the development offers an exclusive lifestyle destination with full support services being available to this new community. One key aim of this project is to deliver neighborhoods through the creation of a high-quality built environment and by reducing the necessity to travel. Particularly travel by private car for the purposes of recreation and access to services and amenities necessary for living.
The choice of dwelling types was influenced by the location and characteristics of the site, the type density of the scheme being proposed and traditional local architecture.
Whenever practicable, all dwellings have been provided with private space adjacent to the dwellings.
The private space associated with individual dwellings has been clearly defined relative to other adjoining public and private spaces. Moreover, the number of dwellings provided is influenced by the location of the site, the total size of the area, and by the provision of adequate green areas.
