RW Armstrong’s scope is the Interior and Exterior Retrofit of the existing Department of Economic Affairs building to suit its new government tenant: The Department of Municipal Affairs. The building is G+5, approximately 15,000 SM and built in 1983.

RW Armstrong has taken the outdated existing building and provided a new high performance skin that assists with reaching a Two Pearl Estidama rating, selectively upgraded MEP and HVAC systems, code upgrades for Civil Defense and IBC/Abu Dhabi Building Code Accessibility Compliance as well as state-of-the-art IT and Security technology.

The experience of the end user is extremely important to the project, with views captured to the exterior and interior courts that reinforce the purposes of the spaces within. High quality yet cost effective materials and finishes are used throughout to bring out the best overall end-user utilization and enjoyment of the project.

The new building provides a modern image, both inside and out, for the important management, office and meeting spaces of the Department while remaining within the allowable budget and timeframe for completion.
