RW Armstrong provided project man- agement and construction manage- ment services for Al-Azhar library pro- ject located at Al-Azhar University, an important center of Islamic learning. This project were funded by SZGM New building for Al-Azhar library: con- structing a high-tech B+G+3 library based on international standards, lo- cated on a plot size of 67,000 sq.ft.

The new library comprises the latest technologies in terms of microfilm and microfiche   readers,   culturama   and
 
other panoramic interactive systems.  It also comprises a research center, manuscript and heritage center in addition to restoration center and a 300-seater conference hall.

The library is expected to serve around 600 visitors per day. The designer se- lection will be held through a competi- tion between 13 local and international consulting firms.

Project duration is 20 months.
